Our vision, mission, and what we believe

Spectrum Ministries Inc is a 501(c)(3) non-profit Christian organization.

For over 40 years,Spectrum Ministries has ministered to Tijuana’s most vulnerable and disadvantaged children. In addition we have helped mobilize the church through cross cultural missions experiences by providing opportunities for groups and individuals alike to join us in our work.

what we believe

We believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God.

We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

We believe that Jesus Christ is the only Son of God, He was born of the Virgin Mary, He lived a sinless life, and He was crucified for our sins and rose again on the third day.

We believe that all people are guilty of sin and in need of salvation; that salvation is available only through the atoning death of Jesus Christ, and that people must believe in Him, receiving Him by faith as Savior and Lord to obtain salvation. 

We believe that the most important thing in the entire world is a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. That relationship comes only through God's grace not by man's effort and must be received personally by faith and repentance.

We believe in the presence and power of the Holy Spirit in the work of bringing people to salvation and by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life and participate effectively in the Great Commission.  

We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ. 

We believe that the local church exits to encourage growth in every believer.  Also, the local church is the primary resource for carrying the Good News of the Gospel to those who have not heard.

We believe that we should share Jesus Christ with our community and the world.

We believe that at the end of the age, Christ will descend from Heaven. Those who have accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior will live with God, in His presence, for all eternity.

Our ministry

Alcoholism, abuse, teen pregnancy, drugs, abandonment and bitterness swirl throughout poor Tijuana neighborhoods, touching virtually every home and family.  Really, these are symptoms of a deeper problem that exists… a lack of hope. Through building loving relationships, helping at points of need in various ways, and sharing about a God who loves them deeply, our desire is to shine the light of hope brightly into the darkest places.  

Jesus came to serve.  The act of serving takes the idea from a concept that’s taught to a reality in our hearts.  Spectrum offers opportunities for American groups to cross the border to serve with us. Teams that come, play a vital role in the work we do.  While here they learn to love the poor like God does, discover the beauty He instilled in a different culture, and gain His heart to reach a world that doesn’t yet know Him.  These are all a part of God shaping us into who He wants us to be.

In ways that only God can, He works through all of this to defend and lift up the poor.  He uses those who come and generous people who give to come along side us and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  Jesus is our only hope, and with your help we can share that hope with people who need it most!
