Staff: Efren Montes

Meet our staff person of the month
Efren Montes

His family and ministry:  Efren is married to Rebeca and together they have two beautiful daughters, Valentina is 15 and Alondra is 10. Efren began volunteering with Spectrum Ministries in 1983.  Only a few months later, Pastor Von asked him to join the Spectrum staff full-time.
Efren's current role with Spectrum:  His main role is purchasing items needed each week in the ministry, anything from tarps to popcorn to building supplies.  As Pastor Von once described him, Efren is the "logistics man".  Although purchasing is his main role, he can be found doing many other tasks with the ministry, such as building, fixing, and helping out at the activity days!
What Efren sees as a “positive” thing about working with Spectrum:  He enjoys introducing new people into the ministry of Spectrum.  In addition, being able to facilitate the gospel is also definitely a positive aspect of the ministry.
The biggest challenge he faces with Spectrum? Working with people who are unbelievers is always a challenge, almost as challenging as working so closely with twenty other staff who are such a tight-knit community of people!
What he likes to do when not working with Spectrum: Efren enjoys working in his house, spending time with his family and traveling places that brings him in close proximity to nature--whether the mountains, the beach, or the desert.
If Efren could have any “super power” what would it be:  He would like the ability to play the piano and sing, because it would bring him enjoyment and his family could appreciate his "opera" singing more than they currently do!
