Last night our dear friend and brother, Rafael Lopez, went to be with the Lord whom he loved so much and always made a point to tell others about. His sudden death, while a shock to all of us, was not a shock to the Lord who we know is having quite the conversation with Rafa right about now!
Our hearts are heavy thinking about the emptiness we all feel knowing he won’t be around to make his silly faces, or tell his funny stories, to take photos at boy’s camp, and, most importantly, share his love for the Lord to all he met. We can be assured that in the midst of the loss and pain we are experiencing, we know that God has conquered death and gives us life that lasts forever!
Please be in prayer for his sweet wife, Angela, and young daughter, Ariela, as well as his brother, Efren and the rest of the family. We can have peace in knowing that our hope is in Him and that Rafa’s life was lived in that hope and love for others. May we all take this opportunity to hug those we love, forgive those who may have wronged us, give thanks for our blessings, and be a little more like Rafa,
by not missing an opportunity to share God’s love with everyone we meet.
“And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.” John 14:3
